I'm thinking about renting a lens (24-70mm) for a couple of weeks on an upcoming trip and am seeking opinions on which rental company to go with. Was originally intending to purchase the 24-70mm f2.8 but I'm going to wait for the "if and when" Nikon anounces the updated version (hopefully with VR), hence my need to rent the current lens. Anyway what's been peoples experience with borrowlenses.com or lensrentals.com. Has anybody used prophotorental.com out of Boulder? Thanks in advance for any advice or recommendations.

I rented a 500 mm lens from lensrentals.com and had a positive experience. The lens arrived a day before I had requested it (that was nice) and the whole process went smoothly. This was a couple of years ago and I haven't used them or anyone else since. That was my only rental experience and I would rent from them again. They now offer theft protection, which is piece of mind hauling around a $9,000 lens.

I've had GREAT experience with LensRentals.com. Top notch service, easy shipping back and forth. Highlly recommended.
John, I used borrowlenses.com a couple of years ago when a lens was gone for repair and had a fine and very convenient experience.
Thanks for your feedback guys!
