When Bridge CC (Windows) Starts Hanging Like It's Frozen, Here's the Fix

Bridge CC 2014 started hanging on me for every single thing I would do, such as, click on an image in LightBox mode. It would take 8-12 seconds before it would select the image. Then if I CTRL-clicked a second image, same thing: 10 seconds before it would even respond to the click. It became completely unusable, and practically overnight. A quick search on Adobe forums revealed a lot of people experiencing the same issue, and Adobe had no answers other than your PC isn't powerful enough.
Here's the problem: Windows Libraries. I use Libraries all the time, they're great. I can have 8 different folders for images but they can all be put in one Library for easy access. Awesome. Where Bridge freaks out is if you have any folder in a Library that are network or sync folders. Bridge scans all the directories (I'm assuming for indexing purposes) with each mouse click if you have a networked or synced folder in a Windows Library, so that's what hangs it up.
Anyway, the perfect example of a synced folder is DropBox or OneDrive which many of us use now. I made a Library called Cloud and put DropBox, Microsoft's OneDrive, Box.net and Amazon Cloud Drive in there. That's why Bridge freaked out seemingly overnight.
So if you're having this issue, don't reinstall Bridge or zap preferences or any of that, just remove any networked drives or cloud folder from Libraries and Bridge should hop back up in full speed. This includes if you buy an external NAS drive that's plugged into your router via Cat5 or wireless, Bridge will probably freak out, but test it and see. It's better to just access the NAS with the drive letter or a shortcut of the drive, and don't use a Library. Bugs me, because the File History Backup in Windows 8 is really good and it accesses any Libraries you make, but not drive letters, so a Library was my workaround. Oh well.
Mac users, I have no idea if this affects you, but if you've had issues and figure it out, please post!
On a completely different note, I used my new Kirk L Bracket today on my Arca Swiss ball head for both horizontal and vertical shots, and I need to be slapped for not buying this years ago, lol! What was I waiting for??
Thanks, Paul for your usual and thorough explanations and fixes!
I don't use Bridge, since I use a different program for labeling and finding images, but I do use Libraries in Win 7. I have three internal drives and have specific folders and their subfolders in Libraries. It makes it very easy to find things, especially files I need to upload here, or to my web site.
I hadn't considered using Libraries for network folders on my home network due to latency and/or the other computer not being on line. I don't store anything in the 'cloud'. So, your information is good to know.
