A shot I did while in Moab back in October. Great morning light!

I like the magenta/burgundy in the rock contrasting with the teal of the river's edge. Reducing the cyan may make the river vegetation more natural colored if that is the direction you'd like to go. Since the light on the rim attracts the eye to the top, it makes the amount of sky look a tiny bit too thin to me

Yea, I agree with Doug that the sliver of sky is a but distracting.

I like the hues and layers. The sunlit band of light gives a nice accent to the scene. Likely the sky was not cooperating with a dynamic cloud filled scene so you cropped it short. If you have more sky you could use more of it, then burn down the sky somewhat along the very top so the eye is drawn to the lit cliff wall rather than the boring sky. This might help with the overall balance of the composition.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions Doug, Ken and Bob: I have reprocessed the file taking into account your suggestions and this is the result. I think it is a lot better with more sky showing and a tweak to the color balance, many thanks :)

Hi Larry, I like the second version with additional sky, however my eyes would love to see a bit more sky
..next time around of course. Dead Horse is one of those spots that you will keep going back to right?
