Hen Mallard
With cold weather and hunting season, lots of ducks and geese have returned to the small pond at the Terrace Heights Cemetery. Although wild, they have become accustomed to humans for a couple reasons (in my opinion): they do not want to leave and get shot and people feed them. It is a good opportunity to see various species of water fowl (shovelers, wood ducks, mallards, teal, widgeon, Canada geese, speckle bellies; white front, etc.)from up close. It does have drawbacks one of which is the amount of poop that accumulates on the grass before you reach the pond.

Great shot Jim! The color reflected in the water is excellent. The hen has very similar coloring too. Nice portrait shot of the hen with good detail and focus on the eye. Thanks for posting!
