Beckwith Morning
Fortunate to have calmer winds to capture Beckwith in this beaver pond.

All C&C welcome

Hi Ken, the larger submitted version looks perfect...way better than the awe-full compressed smaller jpeg shown here. Not your fault that the Fee imposed NPN can't get with the program. Technically speaking I think you nailed this one with DOF. Good overall color here but the contrast seems a bit harsh to my eye, maybe add some Fill Light via Levals. Lastly keep an eye on the reflection, from left to right, the reflection looks spot on from 2/3rds left to right, then the last 3rd.. the reflection appears way brighter than the willows.

Thanks so much for your keen eye, Kane. Yea, actually the whole image is quite a bit lighter on this site, particularly the foreground. After all this time, I still haven't mastered posting to the web. I think I figured out sharpening, but not exposure. Typically, I just process for print. I guess I just have to post images, see how they display, and then go back and adjust for the web. Regardless, the reflection on the right side is too bright relative to the left side.

Ken, I feel the reflection is pretty much spot on. Love your DOF. Be curious what your f-stop and exposure times were. Overall, this shot is in the top 5 of all the Fall Colors shots I have seen for this year. Great job!

Thanks John for your kind comment. For exposure I actually was not paying as much attention as I should have. This image was F11 at 1/5 second and was using the hyperfocal focusing technique. I do believe my sweet spot for the lens I was using was much lower. Also, should have used a faster shutter speed on at least one image in order to stop any wind action on the vegetation. I shot 15 or so images here and only this one was usable due to veg movement. If I had paid attention to this I could have focus blended at least two images. Sometimes I get caught in the moment and don't think clearly. :frown:

Ken, nice scene and reflection. It looks sharp throughout.
My only suggestion might be with the sky along the right horizon and the blue looks too yellow (from smoke, pollutants?) Maybe select that area and its reflection, and brush in reduced yellow saturation.
I like the mix of colored and white clouds in the sky

real pretty--looks pretty good to me, maybe a tiny bit over-sharpened but the colors and levels look reasonable to me. :wavey:
