Went for a hike in the Umtanum Creek Canyon in Yakima River canyon. On way out almost stepped on this rattlesnake. I wasn't very concerned about them this time of year but got surprised. Thought they may already be in their dens. I am more vigilant now and wear other than tennis shoes.

Sure glad you noticed him before you got too close! He looks ready for you. I bet your lens was close to the 200mm than the 70 for this shot. :biggrin:
