1DX'ers - Does the "exposure level indicator" appear at the bottom of your viewfinder when you're in M mode?
On the 7DII, it appears on the bottom of the viewfinder in Av and Tv, but not M. In M, it appears on the right side of the viewfinder.
On the 7D, 5DII, and (I think) 5DIII, it appeared on the bottom in M.
On the 7DII, it only appears on the bottom for AEB notification.
So I'm wondering if Canon has gone to a new UI for M.

I've been using the 7D with my 300 and 500 mm lenses plus 1.4x extender for several years, and have gotten good results, except at ISOs above 500 when it starts becoming quite noisy. I'd buy the 7DII if it has greatly reduced noise high ISOs.The initiator of this discussion said the 7DII has less noise, and provided some images, but I'd like to see an objective series of noise comparisons with other cameras, with the 5DIII, for example, which is quite good, and which I use with my wider angle lenses. I've not yet seen a review of the 7DII with such testing. Can any of you refer me to an internet site containing such tests? Ron Davis

I think you meant to reply to Keith's post, Ron.

Lance, with the 1DX the metering bar is on the right side in all modes.

They are the first set of posts, mis-labeled as "posts from 2013".
