The summer rains are about over and no lightning or rainbows were caught on my busted trips to Sedona. Here are a few images from two trips.

#4 I used a cloudy white balance for the shaded lower part of #4, but I think I prefer the bluer tone in #3 especially on the agave

These are all fantastic, Doug. I'm especially drawn to #1 and #4. Beautiful work, as usual.

Hi Doug, thanks for posting these shots. Its my opinion that these images leave you a lot to work with, not really sure why you consider the trip to have been a bust. You got some really nice light. I'm partial to #3, and especially #4. I think both are composed really well and the Agave makes for some really nice foreground, better than cactus to my eye. As for your warmer foreground WB in #4, I agree with you, I prefer Agave with cooler tones. I will say the background trees look really nice in warmer tones vs cool. Maybe you can cool off just the Agave a bit?

Thanks Bret, Rod and Kane. Sorry for the misleading wording as the recent trip was not a bust, but several others during the summer as clouds blocked the sunset. Kane, I will try some select WB blending and see.

Really nice comps Doug, I like them all for different reasons but #3 is probably my favorite, I like the light on the mountain and the diagonal lines on the foreground rocks with the agave nestled in.

Great set! #1 is the most attractive to me; I really like the unique composition and sense of space, with my eyes being led directly to the towers focal point.
Nice light and color in #2, but in that comp I feel that the cactus and towers compete for attention too equally or directly, like conflicting focal points; also the cactus seems to be saying "you shall not pass into this scene!"
