If you have been following the saga of the young male wolf in Southern Oregon that wandered back and forth across the California border in 2011 and 2012, looking for a mate, he provided the first documented wolf sighting in CA since 1922. With hard work by dedicated activists, the Fish and Game Commission finally listed gray wolves as "Endangered", resulting in a modicum of protection.
Now there is proof! Baby pictures from an infra-red camera trap! They are still in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest
in S Oregon. However, this is very close to the Northern CA border, so hopefully in the next few years, more puppies should be starting their own families into Northern California.
