Hi Res Display Support in Photoshop... Sort Of
I just came across a setting in Photoshop CC 2014's preferences that says "Scale UI 200% for hi-density displays (Windows Only)". Besides the fact that Mac users are still stuck, something else was interesting: in the Preferences popup form they have added a new category in the list called "Experimental Features" and that's where I found this. On one hand it's amazing that the premiere editing environment on planet earth is still not up to speed on that. OTOH, at least they're finally attempting the solution. "Experimental" doesn't sound bug-free, but it does suggest that they're working on this and hopefully an update will surface in the near future.

You are so right, Paul. Scaling = stretching = distorting. Proper Hi DPI code is gonna need vectors and bitmaps.

With super hi-res displays getting more and more common (I know of 4 different laptop brands offering them now) it's only a matter of time until they truly support high-res. I'm a little surprised that they haven't gotten it worked out yet, but the amount of graphical changes to be made and still keep the interface looking correct are pretty large.

And I hope they work it out soon... because I've got a high-res Dell on the way and I'm considering upgrading from CS6. I may wait until they have proper support.
