Waterfalls, Azaleas, and Lilypads
Last weekend was a good one for chasing waterfalls, with the creeks pumped up, calm winds, and overcast skies all day Saturday. And the trend of prolific blooms on flowering trees, shrubs, and forbs seems to continue. The ox-eyed daisies are really putting on a show now.

Best wishes to all for a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend, as we remember and honor those who died while serving our country.

Very nice series. Looks very spring like up that way. We still have wildflowers in Texas but our trees are all in summer green.

Bill, I'm from the RMNP forum and your title caught my eye. In your first picture I wish you could see more of the falls but that may have been your only vantage point. Your shot of Compton falls is a beauty. Love your perspective and the way both falls look coming into the water. I'm intrigued by your lily pad picture wish I could see it in a bigger version. I love the colors in the water. Nice work!

Nice collection Bill. Is that Hammerschmidt in the first photo?
The color in the lilypads adds a great element to the shot.

Beautiful of Compton Falls. Compton is my favorite falls in the area. And like Rod, I think the color in the lily pad picture is NICE!

Thank you for the nice comments. Debbie, thanks for mentioning the larger size. That reminded me of the small frog that kept his eye on me the whole time I shot this. I've posted a cropped portrait version of Mr. Frog above. I wanted to put a longer lens on, but figured he would hop back in the water about the time I did, and I would have missed the good light that only lasted about a minute. I intend to go back to the pond again -I think playing around with the polarizing filter might be interesting too. Rod, this was not Hammerschmidt, but not far away along the same bluff.
