It's a cracking shot , I like the square composition. Great detail on the fly. I like the contrasting colours and the dark background. ....and it's great to see a post once again
Thanks Kim, although I hope what you wrote wasn't a Freudian slip!๐ฒ๐๐ It looks even better in 3D, but Stereo Photo Maker won't work on my tablet and I haven't found an Android app that will read MPO files and do what SPM does.๐ณ
My desktop computer needs changing, so until I decide what will replace it, my Galaxy Note Pro 12" tablet is doing stirling service.
3D is still my main interest, so tend not to visit here since the mass exodus a while ago.

Insect pollinators are essential for our continued existence, so are worthy of respect and admiration for what they do, IMO.
I, personally, am a fan of black/dark backgrounds, especially with images like this.
With 3D it helps in avoiding excessive disparity of distant objects which can be irritating to the viewer, even more so than with distracting backgrounds in 2D images, if that is possible.๐ฒ

I'll try to post more often in future.
All looks nice and sharp - not surprising bugs land n the flowers... would you want to land on those hairs!?!?!
Personally I'm not fan of black backgrounds, but I guess they help for 3D subjects?
