Greetings NENP forum people. After tonight's rain I have it on fairly good authority that there will a warming in the ambient temperatures leading eventually to very hot and humid weather that we will all be complaining about sometime in late June /early July!
I wanted to ask a few questions about organizing some photo outings in the next few months and see what people might like take part in. Leaving the specific subject of the outing aside for the moment we have in the past done weekend outing that require heading somewhere and staying overnight. That working OK a few times but eventually there was a big drop off in attendance. I was wondering if there might be a way to do some 1/2 day gatherings. Location subject will need to appeal to people but I wanted to get a feel for what people thought they might have time for. Ideas on how to structure of outing would be welcomed. Lets leave the subject of the outing aside and get some ideas on how to structure outings and what kind of time you might feel comfortable setting aside for something like this?
Please reply with your thoughts. . .

Jim, I'm theoretically interested but can you please remind me of what area you're in? Somewhere in New England?
I love your motto.

To answer Nancy's question. . . I live in North Central Massachusetts. That does not necessarily mean that a half day outing would have to be near me. An outing could be in Conn, RI, Maine, or Northern Vt / NH. I am perfectly happy to help someone in areas away from where I live to pull together the logistics for an outing anywhere in New England, and New York. The key would be a photographer with local knowledge of a location and willing to meet, greet, and guide the pther participants to that location. I have done these in the past where I did everything but there are lots of corners of New York / New England that I have no knowledge of would be very happy to support a forum member who can guide others to a good photo opportunity.

Hi Jim. How about a weekend with the lupines and parks in New Hampshire?

We can do that !!. . . in fact that is one I was going to suggest. that would probably be best in Mid June so we would be careful as to when Father's day happens. Let stay tuned on that one.

Weekends and 1/2 days may be possible for me later this spring and fall. Ulrike the lumpiness idea!

Rhode Island is Hali's home territory. Lots to discover there even if only a day trip.

I'd be interested, although I work half my weekends, but definitely keep me in the loop. I'd certainly be willing to show folks around some spots in southern ME.
