Pink
I found this pink bush (Redbud?) last night in central Kansas. I thought of Bill Dark when I saw this scene. He has posted many scenes with the pink in it, which is probably why I thought of him. Heavy winds had blown in a dust storm, which filtered the sun for me :). 7D, ISO 400, f/5.6, 1/800, small crop.

Yep, I like pink...from redbuds to blazing star to pale purple coneflower. That's a nicely-shaped redbud you found, Rob, though it may be slightly past peak, as indicated by the leaves beginning to form at the ends of the branches.

Hey, have any of you Kansas folks been photographing the prairie burns? There was a good story on NPR (yeah, I'm one of those commie liberals ) about it this morning...

Thanks, Bill. I haven't photographed any burns, but they seem to be more common in Eastern Kansas. I am in central Kansas, and the burns don't seem to be as well advertised, plus the terrain is a lot flatter.
