For those of you who use Nikon Digital Cameras, Nikon has released an updated version of View NX2 (v 2.9.2, 4/10/14).
It's a free download for both Windows (32 and 64 bit) and Mac. Note that support for Windows XP has been eliminated.
If you already have View NX2, the installer will update your existing installation. If View NX 1.x or Nikon Transfer 1.x is already installed, View NX 1.x and Nikon Transfer 1.x will be uninstalled.
In case you haven't heard, Nikon is discontinuing support for Capture NX2 sometime this summer, and replacing it with a rudimentary (and currently non-compatible) free RAW converter, Capture NX-D. Not only will Capture NX-D not read your NEFs processed by Capture NX2 (it's unclear if this feature will be added), but it does not allow for local adjustments of any kind (no brushes or Control Points). After using the beta version of Capture NX-D, I cannot recommend it for anyone serious about their image processing.
