Hi,
today when I turned on my Nikon D7100 it was reset to factory settings. I have no Idea how this happened. To reset to factory settings I have to hold down the ISO-button and the Exposure Compensation-butten at the same time for 2 seconds. I have definitely not done this. There must be a bug. It sucks, since I had a lot of custom settings.
Then there is another issue. The camera of course was reset to english language. I tried to change it back to my langusge which is norwegian, but now this is not possible The only possible languages are English and Chinese.
I tried just now to upgrade to the latest firmware, but it did not resolve the language-issue. Still I can only choose between English and Chinese.
I have not gone through the whole menu, so I don´t know if there are other issues. I suspect a software bug.
I haven't seen this on my D-7100, which I bought new in Feb. 2014. You might want to ask about this on the D-7100 forum at the Nikon site. I'm using the Nikon USA pages: Here's the link for the D7100. Click on the Forum tab.
I hope this helps, and please let us know what you find.
Sad that you couldn't find a fix for this. I hope it doesn't take too long for Nikon to fix it. So far, my 7100 is fine, but I'll sure keep an eye on it.
