Serin + repost
I watched this pair edge along the top most branch until there was nowhere else to go except off the end! Would have loved to know what they were chatting about

Hi Kim good to see you posting, looks like these two are having a good chat ,never had the pleasure of seeing one of these birds, I have difficulty getting two birds like this in focus it does not look as if you are far out with these, how far where you from them?. Would be happy if they where mine.

I've never ever since one of these little beauties before, nice shot with a lovely blue sky, really shows off their plumage. I think I might have gone a bit more central on the shot to balance the two birds, but it's a lovely image!

A lovely moment well captured. By the right hand bird's expression I'm glad we don't know what is being said!😁

Hi Kim,

Pretty birds

The colours look a little bit dense/"blocked" on the shot - if you're using something like photoshop, then you might like to try using levels or curves to open the exposure up a touch. Also, if you add some canvas to the edges, then you'll probably be better off cloning it in rather than stretching the canvas or using the content fill - it's left stretch marks behind in the noise pattern!

Sorry Nick, haven't a clue, I have not added any canvas. Will see if I can find the original tomorrow. I do very little editing, wouldn't know where to start using content fill.

That's a bit strange then Kim - you might need to check the settings when you're downsizing and saving the image - take a look on the bigger image along the left & right edge and you'll see the blue is kind of 'stretched' - the noise pattern is different to that in the middle of the image. The line where it changes on the right hand side runs top to bottom through the 'm'.

What are you using for processing/editing?

This is the original shot of the Serins, no editing whatsoever - just a crop. :toast: (Sorry the crop is not quite the same)

Hi Kim,

Did you use something to smooth/blur the sky your original post? The blue background & noise in your repost matches that at the left & right edge of your original post, but the centre section of the original post is much smoother/less noisy than your repost above.

Hi Nick, the only thing I ever use is Neat Image. I have not used it of course on the second shot.

Hi Kim, then neatimage must have done something weird with the first image you posted  :frown:. It's odd how it's only done it at the left 7 right edges, and not at the top... but then it's odd full stop! You might like to keep an eye on any other images you put through neatimage to see if it does it again!

Will do, but don't think I am going to get too excited about it
