Hi all,
Hope you are all well. It's been a long time since I last posted anything! I've renewed my membership, and although full time work stops most of my photography plans, I still get to do a bit now and then!
Here's a Starling from the garden.
Nikon D300s, Nikon 300mm f2.8 plus 1.7x converter - hired this set up for a week and loved it!
Hi Dawn, good to see you posting.
Looks like the set up that you hired works very well, does the 1.7 conv meet your expectation's, I have been thinking of getting one .So called common birds Starlings make a very nice subject as your image shows.
Keith.

Like the chosen composition and including the fence in this one.
Light always turns these every day birds into beauties.
Well done!
greetings,

Thanks both
Keith - yes I was very impressed with the converter, still have to stop down a little to get the best sharpness out of it, but no hardship in that really. It's a much handier set up than my current Sigma 500mm, which I don't get on with that well with.

Love the lighting on this one, makes your Starling a beautiful bird, I think it is a female. Nice background too

A lovely photo of a species we often overlook.
