Creek Scene
It was difficult to find shots in this area that were free of hanging limbs, logs and other PNW forest biomass! Four of us were there and talked and complained about it. So, this photo is either an example of what not to do or an example of how to include some forest along with the creek.
And silly me forgot my tripod. So at f13, 0.3, at 70mm, the image is a little soft...

Would be glad to hear your opinions on the comp and whether or not the post processing I did made the image "acceptably sharp" or "pleasingly artistic." That means you can let me know if I should "can" it and return to the site for another try!
(Only too happy to do that!)

Very nicely composed!

Hi Catherine -- good job on the handheld shot! It does seem fuzzy at the posted resolution, but you get in streamside scenes because of the almost always-present breeze anyway.

I like what the shutter speed has done with the water, and my only critical feedback would be to play with different focal lengths. There's so much here that my desire is to see less in the frame and therefore more in the image. Hope that makes sense.

Hi Catherine! I like the comp and the lighting. Its very tough to get good sharpness hand holding a shot like this but you did a good job of it. The shutter speed looks perfect. I agree with Wesley about the different possibilities here, but I like it as is also.

I know where you took that shot...

Nicely balanced composition Catherine!
