Snoqualmie Falls - Full Throttle!
Yesterday was too nice a day to stay inside. So late afternoon I headed to check out the local falls as the river was swollen with recent rains. I captured a shot from above and one from below. The water was high and down-stream direction of wind and mist made keeping the lens clear impossible. I would lock in the composition and focus, clean the lens, then try to click the shutter while removing the cloth with the other hand. It took a few attempts (I kept snapping and capturing my cloth in the photo). Delighted to see the rainbow. I did clone out a small tree that stood on the left side …easy clone due to the surrounding mist.

That's a large volume of water Ken! I was working near there yesterday, and probably drove right by when you were there!

Lovely...both of them. I like the waves in the basin in the first one, and of course the rainbow. The second one is a more pleasing composition, but I like feeling the spray in the first.

…and one last that is also posted on Man and Nature Gallery: A multi-frame photo to include sky during sunset. Looks like today, Sunday Mar 9th…photo-bugs like myself might be blessed w/a sun-break or two…. and the ‘thunder’-volume of water shall continue.

THAT is mighty! Gorgeous shots, all. Pretty sunset sky. The view from the bottom is amazing. Kinda surprised they let people go down there when the river is so near flood stage... Thanks for posting, Ken. Makes me want to get out there.
