Hi Chris it's a nice looking image I like the colour and rim lighting.

Hi Chris,
Bcklighting is nice looking and I like the oof specular highlights. I would be tempted to lighten the face of the bird, as eye is a bit lost in the dark head.
Cheers,
Marko

Thanks again.

Hi Chris, agree with Marco re trying to lighten the head a tad but that apart it looks it's an image with a very nice feel to it, like it a lot.

Cheers Keith, I still haven't got round to having another go at processing this. Hopefully will get a spare few mins this weekend fingers crossed!
Craig et al - I have uploaded a bigger version and also tried to show more details from the head without loosing the colour and feel of the image. What do you think?
Cheers, Chris.

I think the truth is in the middle of these two images but what a stunner!
Love the 'smoke"!

Agree with Jeroen. Backlit images are always eye-catching and go to show that shadow details are not always needed. The rim lighting and steam are what are meant to catch the eye here, too much detail elsewhere takes away from them
