Little owl.
Nikon D4
Nikon 300ml 2.8
1/500@f7.1
ISO 2000.
One from the summer, posted this because of the detail that my Nikon D4 gave me at ISO 2000 must say that with a bit more experience and use it will really fit the bill.
I gave it one pass of neat image please let me have C&C warts and all.

Hi Keith, you already know my thoughts on this, and the thought of just upping that ISO to capture those images that before were perhaps not feasible is oh so nice. It's great to see how well you are doing and producing some lovely work. With both the D4 and what you are building on with regard to PS & PP you have a good platform.

cheers
Steve

That's one very sharp and detailed shot, Keith. I can only dream of ISO2000, trying this on my 1D3 and 7D would produce an awful looking image :frown:

Andy...

Thanks Andy Steve pleased with what I'm getting it would be awesome in the hands of someone with more experience than myself but it's good trying, pity the Short eared Owls are not about this year I would have loved to have a go at them in fading light.
Off to the Gambia at the weekend so no more posts from me until I get back.

Hi Keith,

A good looking photo. I would look at the white ballance, as it seems a bit on cool side to me.

Cheers,
Marko

Hi Keith I can remember a while back now you ringing me and asking me about the D4 before you were going to buy one. I told you then of the ISO and stuff but glad you brought it as I can imagine its helped you in poor light no end.

Its a cracking image, full of the Little Owls spirit and the feathers details are stunning. I love the interest captured in his stare, great shot and all the best Keith. :wavey:

You must've been pretty close to this with a 300mm and FF body, but it has produced a great Image that is up there with your best.

I can only dream of a D4 but am hoping to give recently recieved D300S an airing soon. :wavey:
