This Little Owlet was just stretching out as it kept track on what it subsequently caught, a huge green caterpillar. The dappled branches in the BKG are not ideal, but you have no control of where these guys are going to land or hang out, but happy it was slightly overcast to retain the whites.

Steve no prob's with the dappled BG,your Owlet is full of excellent detail and the raised foot just adds more interest, with a grip like that and those talons you would think it would puncture it's foot.

A great pose from the Owlet, and the dappled BG isn't an issue for me. The pose is a winner for sure, as is the detail in both the feet and the plumage.
Hi Andy, technology has come on leaps & bounds over the last few years as young Keith knows only too well, but it means going 2000+ is not an issue to the IQ and allows you a huge freedom. My default is 800, but regularly shoot ISO 2500 and at A3 the prints are stunning.
