I am finally getting around to processing some of my photos from an October trip to Cannon Beach. I have a bunch I'll share over the next week as I try to get back in the photographic swing of things.
This is a shot of starfish and sea cucumbers (I think?) clinging to a rock in an unseemly orgy. I have two compositions (really the starfish composed themselves differently on different parts of the rock).
Here is the first:
ISO 200, f/7.1, 1/15s handheld
Canon 7D with 20mm Sigma
Whaddayall think? Is it sharp enough? I'm pixel peeping at 1:1 and have lost perspective ;-)
Hi Marylynne. What a nice change of pace to see some sealife. Love the Sea Stars; don't remember ever seeing a Sea Cucumber, so I enjoy that. I like the 2nd image very much. The arrangement of the creatures looks good, and I like the look of the sand, too. The 1st one looks more disorganized and as if the scene is somehow incomplete with the number of cut off elements at the top... Great to hear you'll be photographing more again. Will look forward to seeing your posts.

Hi Mraylynne!
I agree with Catherine's comments. The 2nd is my favorite too. The arrangement of the stars forms a diagonally arranged cluster, and I like the contrast of the orange star in the center.

Any preferences? Reasons? Suggestions?
