Some, not all, jpgs I insert into Powerpoint 2010 Windows 8.1 on a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro have badly distorted colors.
When I view these jpgs with other apps, like Windows Picture Viewer and Photoshop, they look fine.
When I copy the ppt or pptx file and display it on another computer with Windows 7 and Powerpoint 2010 or Powerpoint 2003, they look fine.
Here's a sample of one of the jpg's. The first image is the way it's supposed to look. The second one is the way it's appearing in Powerpoint. Trying different file formats to insert into Powerpoint (bmp, png) doesn't help. The results are the same.

I'll be following this thread with great interest. My experience with PP 2010 is that images inserted lose saturation and contrast, and color temperature is shifted. I have to manually correct colors on each image individually using the Picture Color Options tool. And they still never look quite right. I'm running Windows 7 Professional on a Dell desktop.

Peter, you might want to subscribe to the PP forum link in my post. A MS person posted a suggestion. It didn't work and it's not scalable, but maybe something good will show up there.

Any help, please? Thanks.
I also posted this in the Powerpoint 2010 forum: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2010-powerpoint/some-inserted-jpgs-dont-appear-correctly/aa980b40-44e9-480d-aba6-f3d882094160?tm=1389960049970
However, I just did them again, and the problem is fixed. I hope it's still fixed tomorrow.
Peter, please let me know if it works for you.
