Mike I like the way you have captured the feather detail the way it looks very natural with the soft look of the feathers, toe bit dealt with ,got a bit of a thing about over processed bird photographs which this is certainly not ,and of course everyone has a different view on this subject. Anyway getting back to your image I like it a lot.
