sun pillar tonight

I was driving home during sunset and saw that the clouds were clearing to the west and it looked like the possibility of a sun pillar was pretty good. Fortunately, I had taken my camera in the morning because I was working three counties away and I knew there were some good locations along the way for sunrise, but it was all cloudy. I kept my eye on the scene behind me and looked for a good spot to pull over, I was glad to find this little grassland.

Thanks for looking.

Great catch. Shows why you always need a camera.

Fantastic color!

Nice catch Ken. My wife mentioned seeing this event. I was surprised to learn that she had never seen one before.
