This one is from last summer, when a pair of wrynecks nested in one of my nestboxes. This time I went for a back light with front light being defused. Othervise the techs are the same as in previous phtos. You can see, that the quality of the front light is completely different...
Marko you caught this one beautifully ,no nits from me excellent image.

Stunning shot Marko! Love it!
I would perhaps be tempted to lighten up the face and worms in the beak just a little bit but other then that this is amazing!
greetings,
Jeroen

It's the balance of lighting in favour of the back lighting that really make this one stand out.
A very dynamic shot taken to another level with the superb rim light effect
Best of them so far

Thanks folks for your comments!
Jeroen, this are actually ant eggs. They and ant larvae are the main diet of young wrynecks. I'll think about your advice on lighting the face up.
Actually I'm not perfectly satisfied with this lighting set up. Back light is all right, although I'll try to warm it up a touch next time. The main problem is the front light. I still don't have "shadowless light" effect I would like to achive and that one gets when photographing in nature backlighting situation. But it's a work in progress, and I'm quite happy with how things develop at the moment.
Cheers,
Marko
