And another. I liked the foreground here as it was one of the few places I could actually get close to the edge of the water and not be in 5" of muck.

The last of the sunset light in the distance across the edge of the lake and the salt dunes.

I love seeing all these places that I've never been to but would like to visit some day. West Texas is a long ways away though. Congratulations on capturing a rare event. My favorite is #1 and the last on your blog is #2.

Wow - just wow!
I'm going to have to talk with you sometime as the Guadelupe Moutains and Big Bend NP are on my "to-do" list - hopefully in the next year or two...

Thanks all. Tim, Big Bend and the Guads are both fantastic parks with amazing landscape opportunities. You cannot go wrong with either. I wrote articles on each of them for this site. Check the back issues. You can also pull blog entries from them off my blog

9 repliesA 9" rain in September flooded the salt flats making a nice lake. I caught some nice sunsets here on my trip.
See more on my blog.

I firmly beleive that Big Bend is one of the 5 best parks and only is ignored as it is in remote west Texas.
