I posted this in the PNWNP forum, but thought it deserved to be seen here as well.
Marc Adamus's Ocean's Fury Image was chosen from among all the winning prints by Art Wolfe as his pick for the grand prize at this year's Environmental Photographers Invational. Congratulations Marc on your most deserving image!
For this honor he was awarded a canon 30D with lens and free workshop with Art himself.
It took me a couple of google clicks to figure out the image in question is this month's cover shot. I've been meaning to award Marc a Canon 30D and a free workshop, but never mind. Someone else took care of it.
Congratulations. It is a wonderful, action packed photograph. That's not something we see in landscapes very often.
It might be a workshop in the new state of the art digital classroom in the Art Wolfe photographic center and not a location workshop, but I'm not sure. Either way, color me jealous
Thanks all. As I stated on the PNWNP page, the trip up there (5 hours) was worth it just to meet Art in person. Rarely in my life have I met such an engaging, energetic personality. It's easy to see how the man has made it to the ends of the Earth and back so many times. We were able to talk for a while after things settled down a bit. He invited me to his Zion workshop in November or digital class of my choice. I don't know for sure what I'll do with the camera yet. A signed and addressed copy of his recent landscape book "Edge of the Earth, Corner of the sky" was also a real treat also, and I would encourage others to check it out if you haven't done so already. It's one of the best collections of landscape images anywhere - not bad for a photographer at least as well known for his wildlife shots.
Thanks for the generous comments everyone. The EPI event was a lot of fun and I'm grateful to get to meet many other excellent photographers in person there as well.
!!! Well deserved, Marc, Congrats!! (By the way I like "Edge of the earth, Corner of the sky, its a great book, was a christmas present two years ago!).

A personal workshop with Art Wolfe; what are you planning on teaching him?
