Running Lichen Spider
This was an interesting find: we were photographing Lago di Predil (I'll post that photo next), when I notice this interesting black and white spider on my jacket. I let her go, after I asked her to pose for me. She was extremelly cooperative, and even didn't ask if I'll send her the photos...

Later I realized, that this species is UKBAP species as well, so it might be interesting to you folks from UK...

Cheers,
Marko

Nice shot. The fall off in focus around the spider really makes it jump out of the screen. Top work, Marko :toast:

Marko

Great to see you back posting here again, seems a long long time since that Texel trip!

Hi Marko, like Simon says it really does pop out of the screen, is it a big Spider?

Hi folks and thank you for your comments! Yes, Mike It's been a while. And no, you are not stoned. It is missing a leg. Keith, it's not big enough to eat you . This is a female and it's some 3-4cm across with legs.

Cheers,
Marko

Now, I have tried this and recently too. Not with the same species but those spiders resident in Sherwood Forest.

It's not easy at all not least because of the working distance and DOF .. so, although this comes across as a AOAR (think BOAS  ) it a very well executed and rather impressive picture in its simplicity.

Didn't spot the missing leg :frown:. I do like your use of the edge of the stone to give the spider prominence in the shot.

Phew!!

Still a cool image, there are possibly those that would have encouraged a bit of cloning, but it is what it is,,,,,,, Personally I prefer images that are representative warts and all……. :toast: :toast:
