I missed the post where the gathering was changed or I would have been there, but Stan and I did make it to the area this weekend. It has been seven or eight years since I have hiked to Whitaker Point aka Hawksbill Crag. I have wanted to go back since. This weekend was nice and we had the place to ourselves for about an hour. We hiked in-in the dark and got there right before the sky pinked. But there were no clouds so the sky was bland and I took only the landscape. Colors were nice!

Sorry you weren't keeping up with the thread, Dottie - would have been great to have you join us. Looks like you still found some great color at the crag, but the background trees appear to be a little soft for some reason...

Great lines in this photo. The rock outcropping grabs the eye and then it either goes up or down and then is brought around by the opposite side.
I like the ethereal feeling of the humidity in the distance.
The color adds contrast and the leaves great texture.
It is ALL there in this photo.
Nice.

You framed it quite nice to get interesting light in the image.

I like it as well, Dottie, you got some great color. Definately a place I would like to see. Are there many choices for composition? This view is great and seems to be about the most common seen. Looks like I've still got a few places to explore yet in the Upper Buffalo River area.
