This an American Kestrel, an ideal subject if they sit still long enough, I was able to get fairly close for a nice shot staying in the car they are used to the cars
I used a Canon EOS 7D with my Canon EF 500mm L Is lens with my attached 1.4 extender, taken off hand through the car window. I braced the Lens against the window frame.
The photo was taken 1/20/2012 using Program AE, shot 1/1250@f13, ISO 400, shot at 700mm RAW using AI servo
The photo was taken At Moccasin Island Tract parking area
Critique Comment would be appreciated

I also wondered why you did not post this in the Avian gallery. But, nice position of the kestrel. It does look a bit soft and in the larger image the BG looks odd, I am sure there is a proper term for it, but to me it looks pixilated. Thanks for sharing.
If you're looking for critiques and feedback, the Avian forum is best.
Nice image, but quite soft. Can't quite manage this degree of enlargement. There is also a distracting halo around the legs, and odd artifacts around the edges of the whole bird.
Nice to find a nearby kestrel, though, and they surely are difficult to get good images of.
