This is a picture from a couple of years ago from down at Worlaby Carrs which is on my doorstep unfortunately the government scheme has come to an end and the land is being put back to arable farming and shooting. We have always had Short Eared Owls on this land but not in the numbers of the last few years so that is sad.I was very fortunate to get a lot of shots of these cracking birds but must say over the last couple of years it was getting very bad with the number of people with cameras which did cause some problems with some of the local land owners although I must say apart from a few idiots most were well behaved. Don't know just what stage they are at.If anyone requires any information please drop me a line.

Very nice 'blast from the past' Keith, excellent focus on the eye.
