I'm in the process of creating my first image for posting using Lightroom 5 thru Export file creation and finding it quite different from PS Elements. Could someone tell what their steps are in doing this? It would help lots as I'm not making progress right now.
Thanks

Peter:
While I don't use LightRoom to generate my JPEGS (I use PS), I can describe the important parts of the LightRoom Export Dialog:
Export Location:
Choose a location where you want the JPEGs to go
File Renaming:
Optional: Rename the exported file if you desire
File Settings Section:
Choose Image Format: JPEG
Choose Color Space: sRGB
Choose Limit File Size: Set it to the proper values for the 720 pixel wide smaller version (300K) and then do another export and set it to 500K for the 1200 pixel wide version
Image Sizing Section:
Resize to Fit: Choose Width and Height
Set Width to 720, Set Height to 720 Pixels. Set Resolution to 72
This will then generate an image that is 720 pixels long on the longest edge
Again, when you export for the 1200 Pixel version, just set the numbers to 1200
Output Sharpening:
Optional: Set sharpening to Screen, Standard or Low
This is very rudimentary sharpening
Watermarking:
If you want to watermark your image, you can create a watermark by clicking "Edit Watermarks" and set one up. This has a lot of flexibility in terms of size / font / placement / opacity / etc.
If you want to save all of these settings as a preset, Click Add in the lower left corner of the Export dialog box and give the preset a name. Create one for the 1200px image and one for the 720 px image and you will be able to make this process pretty automated.
Hope that helps.

Thanks, Keith. That did the trick.

Peter, now a days, you don't need to generate 2 different file sizes. You upload only the larger size (<500K, 1200px) and the web site produces the 720 px version. So far, I haven't noticed any significant degradation in this approach as opposed to creating 2 separate files.
