One from Big Bend. When the sky got clear in Big Bend I would get out in search of stars and catch the Milky Way rising before sunrise.
I am not really the night photographer some others are. For starters I use the 17-40 f/4L as my main landscape lens and you really need a faster lens for good night images. Of the many I took this was about the best. It was the reflections in the river that I really liked.

Nice, Darren, I really like the stars reflecting in the river.

Nice Darren! I didn't know the 17-40 would capture that. I am thinking about getting a Rokinon 14/2.8 for Milky Way shots. Like Tom said, the reflection is very interesting.

Nice job, Darren. The reflections are a little different and I also like the twilight light. It looks like you did great with an f/4 lens. I tried some milky way shots on my recent trip to Colorado. I will post something when I get it processed.

Thanks all. Jan the Rokinon lenses are awesome. Very sharp and inexpensive. Actually they are really Samyang made lenses. Rokinon is one of several brand names the are sold under. So are Bower, Pro Optic, Vivitar and others. I have used their 8.5 mm fisheye for both Canon and Sony mount and it is L series SHARP!
I have a buddy with the 14mm and it is also a great lens. Do note all the Samyang lenses are manual focus. I do not find that a problem with wide angles at all. Actually it is easy to set focus at five feet , use f/11 and its all in focus.

This is really good, Darren. Nicely balanced and the reflection gives the image depth and lots of interest. Well-done!

Nice composition Darren. Very balanced with the reflection, stars and horizon glow.
