Here is one from the Chisos Mountains in Big Bend. It was mid morning on my way into the park and getting to the Chisos close to lunch I was on my way to stop at the lodge and a plate of enchiladas before heading out to the campground on the far side of the park. As I drove up into the mountains, I saw this Agave stalk and had to stop for a picture.
See more from that morning on my blog-which I am updating the look on a little.
Nice place to stop for a photo, Darren! Great sky and interesting terrain. Loved the West Texas Mustangs image in your gallery as well...

Thanks Bill.
I have been trying some of the new look items in Smugmug to do a revamp of how my site looks. It is still not as simple as Blogger is but after several hours I got it to do most of what I wanted.
That mustang image was pure luck. I had tripod set up to photograph rocks and they walked up and would not leave me alone. Could not move tripod fast enough so this was a point and shoot shot.

Very nice Darren. I always like foreground objects, and you picked a good one. My eye still travels back through the scrub, and onto the distant escarpments. Great DOF.

Does look like there is a lot of diverse terrain and character to be found thereabouts ... probably the odd rattlesnake too!
