Little owl
OK -its not in water but still bathing I suppose !
This happened on the dry track running under the big open fronted nesting barn. Had to de tripod and stick the lens through a side hole.
For interest more than critique.

Lost the exif but speed on 800 ISO and a big crop.
Put some water down but not seen to use it yet but I understand they do water bathe.
Only one young made it so parents not very active these evenings.
Cheers

That’s different John, never seen them do that, I once had one arrive at the landing zone that was very wet one hot evening, I assumed it had been bathing somewhere on the farm. I don’t know of another bird that is so engaging as a little owl, that youngster on the right seems to be looking strait at you. Even though you shoot from a hide do you think they know you are there?
Thanks both.
Bob
They know I am there but they are so used to me I might as well not be. I always wear the same bright red top and with my grey hair I am sure they know me ! They ought to -I've been there several years now. I have to put my hand outside a holein the hide side to get them to look at the camera. If i shout, whistle or cough it makes no difference.
Did when I fell off the bucket though !!!
Cheers

The right shot is the one for me, love its posture! Interesting behaviour. Is it because of the heat I wonder?
