Here's an image from the Ruth and Paul Henning Conservation Area in Branson, MO. It's one of the many natural attractions you'll find in Don Kurz's book, Missouri's Natural Wonders Guidebook. At 1,534 acres, Henning glades is the largest dolomite glade complex in Missouri, and possibly the United States as well. Older folks may remember Paul Henning as the creator of the popular 60's sitcoms, The Beverly Hillbillies, Petticoat Junction, and Green Acres.
Another one of those images that you can just feel...the bit of coolness in the air..the way the sound carries....and the birds that are calling..great shot there Bill

Wonderful image Bill, interesting info behind the shot..
And yes, I remember those sitcoms all too well
Thanks, guys. Looking back, I kinda wish I had composed this a little differently, but hey, there's always next year! This was actually a sunrise shot, and this being my first visit and only a short time to choose a location, I didn't have as much time as I'd liked. I was laying flat on the ground with the legs of my tripod splayed out flat, so setting up the precise angle took some time as well. Henning glades is definitely on my list of annual visits now...
