I drove up to Nebraska for the long Memorial Day weekend to do some photography. I was inspired by Richard Teller's shots of the area and wanted to see it for myself. I had planned with Goggle maps and the Photographers Ephemeris, and a field of view calculator to get a shot with an enlarged full moon setting beside Chimney Rock. Unfortunately,I didn't see the moon or sun until mid morning on Sat. This is what I got Sun. morning, not quite what I wanted but the clouds moved in before the moon got low enough. This is from about a mile away at 159mm.
I really enjoyed the area a lot. There are many wildlife conservation areas that are state owned or private owned with public access. This is in one of the largest, Buffalo Creek Wildlife management Area.
On the way home I stopped at the Arikaree Breaks in far northwest Kansas. This is an area about 30 miles long and 5 miles wide of badlands along the Arikaree River. It is all private land but there are a few public roads passing through that you can shoot (photos) from.

All three are nice Ken but I especially like the Buffalo Creek and Arikaree Breaks shots. Thanks for sharing.
I always enjoy seeing photographs from unfamiliar places like this. Nicely done, Ken - especially enjoyed the sunrise shots from your website. Thanks for sharing!
