Just returned from a few days or camping at Vogel and wanted to let everyone know that while the certainly do not have blooms to match the Smokey's that there are some likely photo opportunities for anyone close by. There are pink lady slippers and I saw two yellow lady slippers. Crested Dwarf Iris were common and what I believe to be Foamflower were everywhere. There was one Solomon's Seal and several False Solomon's Seal. The flame azalea are in various stages of bloom depending on where they were found. Some of the Mountain Laurel around the lake were starting to bud.
This was a getaway camping trip for my wife and myself so the only camera I carried was the iphone.
