I'm planning a weekend trip to the Smoky's Easter weekend. I'd like to stay in Townsend. It will just be me, and I'd prefer something on the economical side.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've done an online search, but can't seem to come up with enough information. I did find rooms at the Gateway Inn for $67, but not sure where in Townsend it's actually located, and if I can do better one way or another.
If that gets you a room that has functioning heat, air, hot water, and hopefully Internet access then I would go for it as long as there are no family reunions or weddings there that weekend.

My wife and I have stayed at the Talley Ho several times we usually pick one of the newer/larger rooms but have stayed in the economy rooms (original 8) and I would stay in one again if I went by myself. I does seem like I remember there being very few electric outlets in those though.
I have stayed at the Talley Ho, Gateway, and Highland Manor. I can recommend all of them, but my favorite is Gateway Inn. The people that run it are the nicest people you can find. There are very few rooms. It's an older inn, but the rooms have been renovated. Townsend is a pretty small place so location is not going to make much of a difference.
It may be difficult to find a room Easter weekend. It may be even harder to find any wildflowers. It snowed pretty good today and the temps are in the 40's for the next few days. Flowers are running behind schedule, or atleast behind where they have been the last few years.
I always use tripadvisor.com when planning a trip to a place I've not been to before. Have never gotten bad advice.
