I am in the procees of planning a fall trip (September 28 - October 7) to Vermont. I will be staying around the communities of Bennington, VT and Burlington, VT during this time period. I have never been to New England and am looking forward to this trip. It will be hard to give up photo opportunities like the attached Colorado fall scene this fall. I have seen photographs of the fall scenery available in Vermont and look forward to taking pictures of what Vermont has to offer in the fall.
While there I would love to be able to take some fall landscape pictures and would welcome any ideas as to must see locations.
Thanks for your time and suggestions.

If you want the scenic drive, take Route 100 between the two towns. It runs a bit east of both cities but it is the most scenic drive in the state and packed with photo opportunities. You may be there a bit early, especially in Bennington, but Route 100 runs the spine of the Green Mountains and leaves turn up there earlier than lower elevations like Bennington or even the further north Burlington. I'm running a workshop/tour Oct. 11-14, which is usually the peak foliage time. If you want some specific locations, just let me know.
