Art Show Canopies

I have not been doing any shows for six years and want to start doing both inside and inside shows. I used to have an EZup canopy but it was destroyed in a storm - not at a show.

I have seen some posts on other websites that many shows don't want EZups at their shows. Has anyone had any experience or been at shows that do not allow EZups?

Also, anyone have any experience with either Flourish or Light Dome Canopies?

Thands,

Jim

I researched this a couple of years ago, but then backed away from doing art shows. What I remember is that EZups were less expensive, but not highly rated. There were two top brands, Light Dome and I can't remember the other - I've misplaced my notes.

I do juried art shows as a photographer. Personally, I have not heard of a show not allowing EZ-ups. But that's not to say that there isn't such a show out there. Each show makes up their own rules, so anything goes.
Flourish and Light Dome are the two most popular "good" canopies, and arguably the best the industry has to offer. I own a Light Dome, and chose it over the Flourish Trimline for a couple of reasons - it is easier to set up and tear down, while the entire top is a skylight, making the Light Dome the brighter tent inside. Properly set up, either tent will ride out severe weather, where the pop-up tents will be blown away.

Here is a link to a great forum for art show photographers. You can read many posts concerning tents, as well as any other subject matter related to photographers and art shows.

Jim I used the light dome for several years and would recommend it highly. It is very sturdy. Maybe the only down side is it takes a little longer to put up than an EZup. Hope this helps. Chet

In addition, the cost of both the Trimline and Light Dome start @ about $800+. Add a few accessories like awnings, better carrying bags, etc, and you'll soon be in the teens pricewise. Ain't cheap for sure, but they do offer you more stability, and will last a long time if you take care of them.
Check out their websites for full details.

Granted, the Flourish website is more advanced than the Light Dome site, so take that with a grain of salt.

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm leaning towards the Light Dome.
