Here's another from Yosemite in November. This was just West of the Pohono Bridge where our intrepid group slid around on slippery stones.

This is a really nice intimate river scene, Preston. I would not mind seeing it a bit warmer. It looks a little blue overall to my eye. I like the composition and the image overall works quite well.

Preston,
I love this intimate stream image. Excellent composition, balance and arrangement of the elements including the foreground rock, gentle flow in the river, then the grasses and ferns up top.
Can't say I agree with Mr. H. there on the blue. The rocks and water look pretty neutral to me. If anything I think the upper half leans warm rather than cool. I think at this point though, we're starting to split hairs. Print the thing!

Preston,
I don't think it is too blue either. My first thought was that it was too warm, but then my second thought was that it need a little bit more contrast. Other than that, it is a finely balanced image.
Lon gave me the idea to use a TK Super Mids mask on a Levels layer. I pulled the Red and Green Channels black point setting to the beginning of the data on the histogram. This made the image more contrasty, but did pull out the reddish hue. Next, I brightened the mid tones and pulled the white point to the left a bit. This balanced things out pretty nicely.
Next, I masked out the upper part above the grey rocks and pulled down the blue and cyan saturation in the water and fore ground rocks. This gave me the neutrality I wanted.
The last step was to invert the previous mask and tweak the saturation on the plants a wee bit.
The print looks pretty nice, but I gotta give Lon the credit for the idea.

Ahhh, shucks....
Great images deserve all the tweaking to "make them the best they can be" as I've learned to say now. I think I got that from TK.

Thanks for your comments! They are always appreciated!
Chris, I actually had to do foot jams between some of those stones to keep from winding up on my six. It was fun, though!
Based upon an off-line comment and suggestion from Lon, I did a bit of tweaking.
Here's the result.
Merry Christmas to all!
