Washington Monument
My wife and I spent the day in the National Portrait Gallery here in DC, then decided to go for a walk on the Mall for fresh air and a leg stretch. I was carrying a new Nikon Coolpix AW100, and decided to give it a pop or two to test it out.

I think I'm going to like this little pocket wonder, auto-everything or not!

Nice lighting here, Hank. If you have the time, I suggest visiting Arlington Cemetery and checking out the view of the Mall from across the river at, or just after sunset.

That's some photo-taking power in a pocket-size package. Nice photo!

Thanks folks. I'm really impressed with its metering and ability to resolve challenging situations. I originally bought it to hang from my fly vest, but after my trials it's going to get lots of use off the water, too.

And thanks for the tip, Mark. We'll be back downtown sometime between Christmas and New Years and I'll lobby the rest of the crew for a late visit to Arlington.
