I don't doubt that this was taken at 1/8000 of a second. - that certainly is a very fast shutter speed. But it doesn't really demonstrate a fast shutter speed. Would the image look any different if it was shot a 1 second? Probably not. No worries though, the point is you know the difference. A fast shutter speed - such as 1/8000 of a second would freeze any movement taking place in the scene.
