Here's another image from the same ghost forest as my earlier one. This is the same tree, actually, but from the other side, and further back. It was raining lightly at the time.

I love the juxtaposition of the light tones and colors against the black charred wood. It is a beautiful contrast. The evergreens add a nice layer as well. Excellent little intimate scene, Mr. Birdwell.

Thoughtfully composed, Preston. I like the colors throughtout the image.
The blackened trees have nice tonal variations. I also like the way that
some of them slope diagonally.

Preston,

Tough call between the two takes on this scene - I like both! this one has a nice atmosphere, and knowing the drizzly conditions, this portrays the experience perfectly. Excellent PB, I'm really enjoying how the charred trunk is tying the two parts of the scene together - the autumn ferns and the misty forest background. Well done all the way around.

The soft colors and textures of the undergrowth contrasted by the strong vertical elements of those blackened trunks emerging from it is lovely. Nice detail in the charred trunks, as well.

I like it, Preston, but for me it's not something I'd hang on my wall; seems it might work on a wall with similar images as a series.
