I thought I would share this link: http://www.prairiestateoutdoors.com/index.php?/pso/article/cougar_captured_on_trail_camera_in_morgan_county_confirmed/
I receive posting from the Illinois DNR and my contact there says this is a real sighting just SW of Springfield.
We live in the Northern Illinois region and there have been time my wife and I thought we heard one.I always second guessed myself, but maybe I shouldn't have.

I actually got this photo earlier in the week from a friend of mine that actually hunts on this property with the landowner, so we'll see if there are any more sightings. We always hear stories like this every year, and I'm normally very skeptical, but this one is the real deal. I also know the Illinois DNR biologist that went to the site to confirm.

That is good news to hear from a wildlife comeback story. Nature has a way of getting back into an area. Hope it does well.
