A little after 7PM the was a 4.6 earthquake about 20 miles west of Portland, ME. My husband felt it on the 2nd floor of our home in NH as did my niece in Portland ME (also on the second floor) and my youngest son at UNH. Anyone else in the are feel it?

Is this the start of Maine leaving the US? I've felt two in Maryland in the last couple of years. Luckily damage is minimal at this level. With our 3.9er a couple of years ago, you could hear it come and go with little shaking. The bigger one (I think it was 5.9) had the whole house shaking and I was in the basement.

Well Mark, ME used to be part of MA. It's been downgraded to 4.0, still substantial for Maine. In my 20 years there I felt a few in the 3 range that rattled stuff on the wall. Curiously, I've lived in CA now for over 20 years and have yet to feel the earth move even a mm. Go figure. My grandson was at football practice when it hit (they were 10-15 miles from it) and said on Facebook things really shook. But you need to remember that's from an experience level of 1 earthquake.
